Hair, Harp and Frequency (with Anna Viechtl and Kiki Moorse)

about

The piece, "Hair Harp and Frequency“ attempts to offer a bridge between Feminist Discourse and its discontents: language, power, and meaning.
Inspired by the eponymous female "Die Lorelei“ and the iconographic link to her golden harp, a sort of siren who, sitting on the cliff above the Rhine and combing her golden hair, unwittingly distracted shipmen with her beauty and song, causing them to crash on the rocks. In 1824, Heinrich Heine seized on and adapted Brentano's theme in one of his most famous poems"Die Lorelei“. In the 19th century it formed material for a great number of songs, dramatic sketches, operas and even tragedies. Der Ring der Nibelungen combines the sexual allure of Loreley plus her mermaid role as the platonic concept of the Sirens as figures that were part of the origins of the world. Loreley's act of seduction consists in the act of musical performance.
What kind of music she performs will depend on the context of composition, but the seductive song needs to be different thus creating an open ending and expressing the cyclical and ephemeral quality of the transcendent moment that the song depicts. Initiated and written by @KikiMoorse (Chicks on Speed), Harp: Anna Viechtl, Music production @RomainFrequency .
